Many print jobs include setup, make-ready, or handling costs that are spread across the order quantity. As the quantity increases, those fixed costs are divided across more finished pieces, so the unit price often drops.
The most cost-effective quantity is not always the smallest quantity. Ordering a little more can sometimes produce a better overall value.
